Offene Wissenschaft ist vor allem (auch) ein Bottom-Up Prozess: Für die weitere Entwicklung hin zu einer offenen Wissenschaftspraxis ist es maßgeblich, dass Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler selbst diesen Prozess aktiv vorantreiben – und zwar nicht alleine, sondern gemeinsam. Darum haben wir es uns zum Ziel gesetzt, eine nachhaltig wachsende und lebendige Community von Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftlern zu unterstützen, die gemeinsam daran arbeitet, Offene Wissenschaft stärker in der Arbeitspraxis von Wissenschaftsinstitutionen zu verankern.
Was ist das Netzwerk Freies Wissen?
Das Netzwerk Freies Wissen umfasst alle direkt und indirekt am Fellow-Programm Freies Wissen beteiligten Menschen und Akteure. Dazu zählen natürlich die aktuellen und ehemaligen Fellows und Mentor*innen, die (wissenschaftlichen) Partner des Programms aber auch andere Akteure, die dem Programm auf die ein oder andere Weise verbunden sind und gemeinsam mit uns an der Öffnung der Wissenschaft arbeiten.
Worauf zielt das Netzwerk Freies Wissen ab?
Wie schon erwähnt ist der Aufbau eines lebendigen Netzwerkes von Aktiven im Bereich Offene Wissenschaft von zentraler Bedeutung für unsere Arbeit rund um das Fellow-Programm und darüber hinaus. Wir möchten Menschen zusammenbringen, die gemeinsam Offene Wissenschaft vorantreiben und ihnen einen intensiven Austausch und eine wirksame Zusammenarbeit ermöglichen. Im Laufe der vergangenen Jahre haben sich selbstständig erste Community-Strukturen unter den direkt und indirekt am Fellow-Programm Beteiligten herausgebildet und verschiedene selbstgestaltete Aktivitäten (Fachbeiträge, Veranstaltungen, Arbeitsgruppen auf der Ebene von Institutionen oder Fachdisziplinen usw.) wurden aus dem Netzwerk heraus initiiert.
Was kann ich konkret tun, um das Netzwerk Freies Wissen zu stärken?
Unser Conceptboard gibt euch einen Überblick darüber, wer die Menschen und Initiativen sind, die aktuell Teil unseres Netzwerkes sind. Dort könnt ihr eure Kontaktdaten, Arbeitsschwerpunkte und Interessen eintragen (wie genau das geht, erfahrt ihr im Board). So können andere Beteiligte Kontakt mit euch aufnehmen, um gemeinsam Ideen für gemeinsame Initiativen rund um Offene Wissenschaft zu entwickeln. Free Knowledge Network – stronger together
Above all, Open Science is (also) a bottom-up process: For the further development towards open practice within academia, it is essential that researchers actively promote this process themselves – and not alone but as a collective. That’s why we set ourselves the goal of supporting a sustainably growing and lively community of practice, whose members work together to anchor Open Science more firmly in the practices of scientific institutions.
What exactly is the Free Knowledge Network?
The Free Knowledge Network includes all people and stakeholders involved directly and indirectly in the Open Science Fellows Program. This includes the current and former Fellows and mentors and the (academic) partners as well as other stakeholders connected to the program in one way or another and are working towards an open academic practice.
What is the aim of the Free Knowledge Network?
As mentioned earlier, building an active community of practice in the field of Open Science is central to our work around the Open Science Fellows Program and beyond. We want to connect people who promote Open Science and enable them to exchange thoughts and ideas and to collaborate effectively. Over the past few years, first community frameworks have developed independently among those directly and indirectly involved in the Open Science Fellows Program and various activities (publications, events, working groups on an institutional as well as disciplinary level, etc.) have been initiated.
What can I do to support the Free Knowledge Network?
Our Conceptboard gives an overview of who the people and initiatives are that are currently part of our network. This way, other people contributing to the network can contact you to develop ideas for joint initiatives around Open Science.
